Christmas time

I know that it is a bi off topic, but it is Christmas time. Actulally it's 29th today, so we are after Christmas. And after almost all of my school exams.
I had some free time :)
Soo, I could do some of my favourite activities this time. I painted a picture (it was a gift for my grandmother, she asked for it back in august). I sewed a bit (those were also gifts). Althought I didn't draw anything now, but I will :D Yesterday I couldn't bear doing 'nothing' so I started revising the chinese lessons. It was good because I have already started to forget some parts of it O.O

Visa

My Visa is ready, I have it in my hand (okay I've put it on the desk so I can type :D )
...haha it's just a short notification for now ^^

My friend was so kind and brought it for me, because I live far (~120km) from the embassy. >_>
He lives about 10 minutes from there, so I was lucky (and I promised him a bar of chocolate - which I forgot to give him T_T) I will! :D

Flight Ticket : Budapest-Beijing-Budapest

Yesterday I've booked my flight tickets between Budapest and Beijing. Finally I could choose a proper one:

(✿◠‿◠)

If my calculations are correct I'll spend 8 weeks (56days) 6 hours and 45 minutes away...
Now that it comes closer it seems much more realistic.

One additional info:
I also issued my visa request yesterday, I'll get it on Monday.

Today I received my passport! I'm so happy about it. (◠▽◠)

Soon I have to request a visa, and then I'll have to book the airplane ticket...wooow that will be quite a time. I've never done anything like this before. THis will be my the first time going out of Europe and also the first time travelinbg by airplane..

Successful interview

The interviwe was successful!! YAY !! \(^▽^)/
I am so happy now..

It was an interview for the project Dare To Dream Changsha (a project with children). At first I was quite determined to apply for WExplore China (project with museums, schools), but after this interview I really don't know I just like this one too!!
Now I can't decide, maybe I have the option to go to WExplore China, but I'll rather choose Dare to Dream...

I love children, I think I really want to go to them :)))

Right after the interview..

I had the interview just about 30 minutes ago...
I am waiting for the result. I should have it in about 1,5 hours. O‿O

During the skype interview I was at school. So I had to find a place that is empty and no one would disturb me, and it has to be a place where the WiFi is working properly.
It was hard to find a place that met both of the requirements. Finally a classmate of mine helped me (Thank you Ákos!!!) And we asked for the key of the teachers' private library. (last time I was there I had 'comparatory civilization studies' exam :D)
So I got an empty room, with a fast WiFi connection. (^▽^)

So everything was ready for the interview. It started with some technical problems. Skype just didn't want to work like it should (+I don't have 'premium' skype, so we couldn't do conference call).
Because of all these hardships at the end it was just a two-sided voice call. This way the quality of the sound was better, so we could more or less understand each other. ^-^
I got questions regarding my previous volunteer work, hardest task I had to face during that, how would I solve different kind of situations.
I had a little 'project' too, I got one minute to plan a 45' course for little kids. That was quite a challenge. *-*

Celia, who held the interview was very kind and cheerful, I liked her very much. Also, her attitude made me feel more comfortable during answering her questions.
Thus, all in all it was a positive experience (regardless of the result). (✿◠‿◠)

~ about one hour left till getting the result... (◔‿◔)

OP Day - Agenda

The OP day Lasted from 9:30AM to 17:30PM.
The agenda was the following (roughly):

9:30-10:00 ~ Opening Plenary
At first we got some basic information about the OPD. The facis (facilitators) introduced themselves. They informed us about the agenda.
10:00-11:00 ~ AIESEC General and EP flowHere we got to know about the AIESEC (basic information) and also about the process we are going through. This was a detailed step by step expanation of the stages.
11:00-12:15 ~ XP sharing
This was a very exciting part of the day. Tha facies talked about thir own internship experience (in a 'talk show'). It was not only interesting, but we also heard about some hardships they went through. So this way we can see that unexpected things can happen, but if we are open and creative enough, we can solve them ;)
12:15-13:00 ~ Lunch break
I think this is quite obvious..^^
13:00-14:00 ~ Supply and Demand
We were shown some statistical data about the number of available internships in different countries. They showed us the areas where we have more chance to get an internship.
14:00-14:30 ~ Interview preparation
Practical prepration! :D We simulated intervies and we got feedback. The weak points were exposed, and we were provided with useful advices so we can improve.
14:30-15:00 ~ Logistical preparation
At this section we were informed about the things we need to prepare before going on an internship. (visa, passport, clothes..etc.)
15:00-16:30 ~ Cultural preparation
We saw a slideshow, and some videos about cultural differences in the world, and some possible issues of cultural shock.
16:30-16:50 ~ Break
... ;P
16:50-17:00 ~ EvaluationBefore finishing the day we filled out an evaluation sheet about it. This was in order to give feedback to tha facis. And we were also asked about our impressions.
17:00-17:30 ~ Closing plenary
The final part of the day. A short summary of the topics. Time for the last questions.

All in all this day was very useful some really important things were highlighted, that we need to be prepared for (eg.: possible inconvenient situations, some practical info about hat to bring, ehat papers should we get, etc..)
Many thanks to the facis! ^^

In the evening, we had a short informal event with the facis and the other applicants ;)

OP Day - Complicated Arrival

The Outgoing Preparation Day was on Saturday (27th october) from 9:30 to 17:30.
We had to arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 so tat we had enough time to register.

I slep at a friend of mine, not too far from the place where the OPD took place. My friend walked me to the building I was supposed to go to. I went in... I saw nothing related to this event, which was quite weird. I looked for some signs, I went through some corridors, but I found nothing. So I went to the reception and asked about the AIESEC. He said it is on the 2nd floor angd somebody has already arrived there.
At this point I became relaxed, that now everything will be ok.
I went up to the 2nd floor, I went through a long passage end eventually I arrived to the door. I knocked and opened the door. There was only one girl in there (a small office). I was quite surprised, and I asked about the OPD. She said it that it was in the other! building.....
I asked for the direction, and after she to me where to go (go out and then right, and then left and right...)
I asked: 'Is it possible to get there within 12 minutes?'
th answer was 'Well, we usually make it in 10 minutes during the breaks'
'Okay, thanks'

The rain was silently pouring, I had no umbrella (of course :D).. But I managed to reach the other building in 8 minutes, without getting totally soaked through ^^

I was in time ^^

I registered and after a short while the OPD started. :)

The travel to the OP Day

I have been to the Outgoing Preparation Day on Saturday.
It wasn't a smooth travel :D I went to Budapest on Friday, and I slept at my friend's house.
Right at the moment I got on the bus in my hometown I wanted to check the time.. on my phone.. which was (as I realized at that moment) peacefully waiting for me on my desk. In my room. At home.

"Okay, don't worry, you can manage without it.."

Well, at least I had some time to rest (after 20 minutes, when a seat became empty and I could sit down) till that i was chatting with a man, he was kind enough to offer me his seat. But I refused it saying it'll be okay like this too. So after I took seat I couldn't listen to music (on my phone) or listen to japanese lessons (on my phone) or use the japanese dictionary (omp), or use the WiFi - this was the first bus I've travelled by that had WiFi :D ... so I just tried to enjoy doing nothing and I just relaxed.

It was 20 minutes before the official arriving time, that we were still 40km away from Budapest. It was 10 minutes before the official arriving time, that we were still 20km away from Budapest. It was at the official arrivig time that we reached Budapest. And then we got into a traffic jam..
I couldn't call my friend who was waiting for me, so eventually he stood at the bus station for 40 minutes.
I was so sorry for him >_>

But finally I arrived, and everything was fine...till the next morning, wen I got into ~a bit of~ trouble again :D

Interview and CV

Yesterday (Oct. 24, Wed) I had the interview in the AIESEC office. It was a good experience. I think it is good that I was thinking about the possible questions before. So I could come up with some clear answers. *‿*

It was a short interview in english. I've already experienced being on the other side, so fortunately it wasn't that much of a surprise. (Although I got 1 or 2 questions that I've already forgotten about, that was the time when I really had to improvise.) It was interesting :)

I have already gave in my application and my CV beforehand (okay, I handed in the final, extended version of the CV at the time of the interview). I think I managed to make a visually pleasing CV, with logically sorted, relevant data. It wans't that easy as it may sound  ..to think over your past activities that can be called professional experience. >__>

The day after tomorrow (Oct. 27, Sat) I will go to the Exchange Preparation Day in Budapest. I'm quite excited about it. ^-^

The Beginning

How I got to know AIESEC?

It was back in april this year (2012). There was an international day at school, and I decided ti see it for myself. At that time I realized, that I was hesitating too much about a certain scholarship I wanted to apply. So eventually I got over-aged O.O
I realized that nothing will come of continuing the daydreaming. I have to take the first step, finally!

So I went to the international day, I gathered some flyers, when I saw the 'info desk' of AIESEC, I went there and asked for some information. This is where the whole thing started.
Things were happening fast, I became a member of the organization. After about 1-1,5 months I had a longer break in the summer, but this fall I rejoined, yay :)

Now in october, I decided to go on an internship. ^^
So let the story begin...
